Dieter P. Abt

Managing Partner

Distinguished by a breadth of global relationships and experience in myriad business

sectors, Dieter P. Abt serves as managing partner of Meteor, which he

established in L.A. in October 2003. Overseeing product placement efforts for clients,

including Volkswagen, Abt also facilitates entertainment industry events that help

Meteor’s clients impact consumers.

Abt launched Meteor in the U.S. as a natural extension of his Berlin-based

television production company Meteor Productions, which he ran as owner and chairman

from 2000-03. There he nurtured relationships with international celebrities and highranking

officials, and oversaw all aspects of the company including business strategies

and finances. Previously, Abt spent four years as chairman of J. Lyons Catering Co. in

London, which employed close to 3,000 staff. Arranging and overseeing VIP events, from

the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament and The Ryder Cup to private functions for the Royal

Family, Abt successfully sold the company in the mid-1990s.

Receiving his early education

in his native Switzerland, later at London School of Economics, Abt is the author of three

books, including the 2001 best-seller Funeral on Ice.

Ben Blanco

Managing Partner, In-house Counsel

With an inside knowledge of studio and production company operations, Ben Blanco

serves as a managing partner of Meteor. In his post he oversees all legal

and business affairs, and is responsible for initiating mobile initiatives for the branded

entertainment venture founded in 2003. Blanco segued to Meteor from a four-year post at

Twentieth Century Fox Films Entertainment, and before that at Intermedia Film Equities, which

at the time was an independent film development, finance and sales company.

Blanco received a B.A. in Film and Television Production from USC’s School of Cinematic

Arts, where he was a founding student member of USC’s Trojan Vision television service.

He earned his J.D. from Southwestern Law School, serving as a member of its Moot Court

Honors program. He is admitted to the California State Bar.

Patrick Lerandeau

COO

Patrick Lerandeau is an ambitious, multi-cultural business manager who has an

accomplished background in growing businesses by forming relationships and executing

strategic initiatives that produce bottom line results. His track record of success in being a

highly versatile leader and team player has enabled him to consistently identify profitable

business opportunities, launch new products and manage self-sustaining teams for both

Fortune 500 companies and start-up firms.

He joined the company’s management team in March 2007, after spending the previous

two years serving as Sales Director for Soapbox Mobile, a mobile marketing technology

platform company. Prior to Soapbox, Lerandeau also worked for a start-up wireless data

communications company where he created a new business model centering on a mobile

based social networking communication platform.

Lerandeau began his career overseas where he spent nearly a decade working for

Steelcase Japan, a multi-billion dollar manufacturing company. He rose to the position of

Director of Sales where he developed, implemented and executed strategies for all Japan

and Korean operations. During his tenure, he doubled the size of his sales staff; created

new consulting and Internet-based businesses; instituted ongoing training programs

for staff and distributors; and teamed with the product development group to analyze,

research, and develop new products for the marketplace.

Lerandeau is fluent in Japanese. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business

Management Entrepreneurship and an M.B.A with an emphasis in International Strategy.

Both degrees are from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business.
